Retired Administrator Awarded Honorary Degree by the University of Aberdeen

Air Commodore Bob Joseph CBE, who retired from the Trust on 21st November 2014, was awarded an honorary degree by the University of Aberdeen in recognition of his eleven years at the helm of The MacRobert Trust.   The honorary degree of Master of the University honoris causa was conferred on Air Commodore Joseph by the Pro-Chancellor, The Very Reverend Professor Ian Torrance, on 15th June 2015.  Citing Bob Joseph’s long and distinguished military career prior to his appointment as Administrator of The MacRobert Trust in 2004, the Laureation Address highlighted his years of dedicated service to the outstanding civic contribution and charitable work of The MacRobert Trust, one of the most influential and widely known charitable trusts based in Scotland and working across the United Kingdom.

Bob AloneCommenting on his award, Air Commodore Bob Joseph, stated:

“I am hugely honoured to receive this prestigious award, especially as it follows so closely on the heels of the Honorary Degree posthumously awarded to the past Trust Chairman.  In accepting this award, I recognise the sterling work of the Trust’s Board of Trustees, the strong support given unfailingly by my wife, and the huge contribution of the hard-working senior management staff and every one of the departmental staff, whose efforts this award also recognises.”
